CLOVIS, N.M. (NEWSnet/AP) — A 10-month-girl was reported safe Monday, after New Mexico State Police had issued an Amber Alert Friday for her whereabouts.
The girl, Eleia Maria Torres, “has been located and is safe,” the state police said on social media, adding that “the suspect has been taken into custody.” The child was taken to an area hospital, Clovis Police said.
The child was reported missing after her sister, a 5-year-old girl, was found critically injured with a gunshot wound at park near Clovis, New Mexico, authorities said Sunday. The FBI is assisting Clovis police on the investigation.
Clovis is located in eastern New Mexico, close to the Texas border.
