McBain Star Named 1st Team All-State
In high school sports, once the Winter season ended, a lot of the great athletes from our area took some time off, and many of them took advantage of going on their school's senior trips. McBain High School's Evan Havercamp got to do that, going on a memorable trip, at the same time, he received big news.
Havercamp was named to the Michigan High School Boys' Varsity basketball All-State 1st team. Over the last year, the Rambler was the best player for the school's varsity boys basketball team. He played a huge part in helping them reach the state semifinals last month. During his career, the 6'9 center was selected as an All-Conference player multiple times, he was even a member of the All-State 2nd team. Havercamp says he was overjoyed by the news, and he's grateful the Mitten recognizes his play.
