Man Arrested Following Car Chase in Grand Traverse Co.
A man is now in the Grand Traverse County Jail following a car chase Saturday.
A Deputy had attempted to make a traffic stop on a 2001 Chevy pick-up due to the pick-up having an improper plate in Blair Twp near Beitner and River Rd.
Deputies tell us the pick-up failed to stop and began fleeing on River Rd.
The vehicle fled from the Deputy reaching speeds of 70 mph.
During the pursuit, we are told the Deputy saw the driver throw a baggie from the driver’s side window.
As the suspect vehicle continued towards Garfield Road, another Deputy was able to lay out stop sticks.
The stop sticks were successful and eventually deflated the fleeing vehicles front left tire.
Deputies tell us that didn't stop him though, and the vehicle continued fleeing.
It finally came to a stop on Mayfield Trail Road in Paradise Twp. due to the flat tire disabling the pick-up.

He was arrested for flee and elude, possession of methamphetamine, and open intox.
He was also lodged on a misdemeanor warrant out of Crawford County.
