Man Arrested for Possession Meth in Wexford Co. After Telling Police Couldn't Arrest Him
A Mesick man was arrested for possession of meth after police say he told them they couldn't arrest him.
On December 28, at 1:30 a.m. a Michigan State Police trooper attempted to stop a vehicle on E 34 Rd in Haring Township.
The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of a closed business and git out of his vehicle.
He then began walking towards the trooper.
The driver, 36-year-old Cody James Morris, stated he was not driving and that he was leaving.
Morris then began walking away.
The trooper ordered Morris to stop, but he refused and continued to tell the trooper that he could not pull him over and he couldn’t arrest him.
The trooper continued to follow Morris on foot and called for backup.
Morris was placed under arrest after a brief struggle.
During the arrest, a deputy found a plastic bag containing meth inside Morris’ pant pocket.
Morris was arraigned in Wexford County on one count Possession Methamphetamine Second or Subsequent Offense, one count Resisting and Obstructing Police, one count Driving While License Suspended Second or Subsequent Offense, and Habitual Offender Fourth

His bond was set at $75,000 cash surety.
