CUPERTINO, Calif. (NEWSnet/AP) — Apple plans to suspend sales of the Series 9 and Ultra 2 versions of its watch for online U.S. customers beginning Dec. 21 and in its stores on Dec. 24.

The move stems from a decision by International Trade Commission restricting Apple’s watches that contain a blood oxygen measurement feature as part of an intellectual property dispute with Masimo, a medical technology company.

The White House had 60 days to review ITC’s order issued on Oct. 26, meaning Apple could have continue to sell the two models in the U.S. through Christmas. But on Monday, the company said it is pausing sales earlier than that to ensure it complies with the ITC order.

If the ITC’s sales ban isn’t overturned, Apple pledges to “take all measures” to resume sale of the Series 9 and Ultra 2 models in the U.S. as soon as possible.

Apple Watch SE, which does not include the blood oxygen feature, will remain on sale in the U.S. after Christmas Eve.
