(NEWSnet) – If you ordered food online via delivery service, the chances are pretty good that “finger foods” such as fries, chicken quesadillas or mozzarella sticks are in the bag.

That’s according to research by DoorDash, which has issued a report on food delivery trends for 2023 along with a look at the 10 years since the online order app company’s founding.

The most popular ready-to-eat restaurant food orders placed nationwide on DoorDash during the past year, were, in order:

  1. Fries.
  2. Chicken Quesadilla.
  3. Mozzarella Sticks.
  4. Garlic Naan.
  5. Spicy Chicken Sandwich.
  6. Pepperoni Pizza.
  7. Chips & Queso.
  8. Traditional Wings.
  9. Cobb Salad.
  10. Fried Rice.

The company reports fries have been so consistently popular since its restaurant service began that over 600 million orders of fries have been “dashed” during the past 10 years.

The most popular grocery orders placed nationwide on DoorDash in the past year, were, in order:

  1. Bananas.
  2. Roma Tomatoes.
  3. Strawberries.
  4. Cucumber.
  5. Cilantro.
  6. Whole Milk.
  7. Eggs.
  8. Iceberg Lettuce.
  9. Red Onion.
  10. Blueberries.

On a side note: DoorDash said the most ordered beauty product via its app this year was emergency eyelash glue.

And after certain holidays, such as St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween and New Year’s Eve, the over-the-counter medication ibuprofen gets a noticeable spike in online delivery service orders.
