A Farwell man was sentenced in September by the Clare County Prosecutor for a meth charge.

Douglas Leon Smith was being investigated for delivery of controlled substances by the Strike Team Investigative Narcotics Group in November 2022.

As a result of that investigation,he was charged Smith with Delivery/Manufacture of Methamphetamine as a second or subsequent offender.

Smith plead guilty as charged on July 24 and was later sentenced to prison on September 6.

He was ordered to serve 6.5 years to 25 years with credit for 224 days already served.

He was also ordered to pay a total of $1398 in assorted fines and costs.
