Winter Dog Sled Racing begins next month, before the season starts, many of the top notch sledders in the country were in Northern Michigan, for a special race, trying to stay dry, sort to speak.

The Annual Dryland Dog Sled Race took place this past weekend along the trails by the Lost Pines Lodge in Harrietta.  There were close to 100 participants, who took part in the 2-day event in Wexford County.  There were 9 different events at this year's race.  The major one was the 6-dog rig, others included were the 1-dog bike, 1-dog scooter, and canicross racing, that is when a person and the dog run together.  Amateur events were also held.  Organizers say, it's always fun to host the event.  It attracted a lot of racers in the country.  The best part is dogs are more excited, and all they came out to win.
