The Ferris State University women's soccer team was going for a 2nd straight win.  The Bulldogs haven't had consecutive victories since the first two games of the season.

They took on Wisconsin-Parkside at the Bulldog Soccer Complex in Big Rapids.  The Dogs held on for a 2-1 win.  Freshman Katherine Welch scored the opening goal in the first half.  She had 5 goals during the weekend, including 4 in the victory against Purdue-Northwest.  Welch leads FSU with 6 goals this season. In the 2nd half, Brinley Bell scored to increase the lead, after a corner kick from Lindsay Cole.  Two minutes after, Wisconsin-Parkside slashed the Ferris State lead in half with a score from Emily Mikkelson.  The Rangers did put pressure on the Bulldogs, hitting the crossbar, and goalkeeper Darya Mosallaei made big saves in the end. The Dogs are now 5-5-3.  Ferris State came in as a top 10 team in the country, however, the season has been bumpy.  Head Coach Greg Henson admits it has taken a while for the team to come together, but he feels they are now clicking at the right time as they play the 2nd half of the season.
