Long Beach Police Are Investigating A Friday Night Stabbing
Long Beach Police are investigating a stabbing that happened on Friday night.
At 8:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Locust Avenue regarding an attempt robbery and stabbing.
When officers arrived, they met with at woman with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital.
The victim stated they were walking in the area of Locust Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway, when they were suddenly physically assaulted by an unknown man.
During the assault, the suspect stabbed the victim and took her purse.
A good Samaritan interjected himself into the situation, chased off the suspect, and recovered the victim’s purse.
The motive for the incident and additional suspect information are unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
