Heavy Wind, Rain Result in Flooding, Down Trees, and More in Frankfort
The City of Frankfort Fire & Rescue had quite a busy morning with all the rain the area received this morning.
Following the heavy wind and rain, Fire & Rescue was called to several incidents in and around town.
It started at 9:43am, when they were dispatched to the Garden Theater for reports that the roof drain had broken and that the building was flooding.
Shortly after, they were dispatched to trees and lines down on Maple Ave, 3rd St, & multiple on Hall Ave. Crews arriving on Maple Ave were met with debris and destruction spanning the length of the whole road.
At 11:00am, while they were on the scene of they storm incidents with Consumers Energy, Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a residential structure fire on Gorivan Rd.
The caller reported an electrical smell and smoke filling up the house.
They were able to break units off from the calls in town and respond down to the fire incident.
They Fire & Rescue arrived, they were able to determine that the house was being overloaded due to a power supply issue and remained onscene until Consumers arrived.
In total, they had 6 fire runs in under 2 hours.
