Ontario Man Arraigned for Fatal Roscommon Co. Crash
Shortly after midnight on Sunday, Roscommon County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to the scene of a rollover accident at Windywood Dr. and Artesia Beach Rd. in Saint Helen.
When they arrived, Richfield Township paramedics and fire personnel aiding to two people. The Sheriff's Office states that 3 people had been in the Can-Am side-by-side at the time of the accident.
One passenger, 66-year-old Floyd Edward Meir from Saint Helen died from his injuries.
A second passenger, a 40-year-old man from Stoney Point, Ontario was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the vehicle, 44-year-old William Robert Simard from Stoney Point, Ontario was arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Death.
Simard was later charged with Operating a Vehicle Causing Death, and was subsequently arraigned.
The investigation remains ongoing.
