In April, Michigan State Police troopers were called regarding an alleged threat to court officials at the 19th Circuit Court in Manistee.

The staff was receiving derogatory and vulgar emails.

State Police say the suspect, 45-year-old Ryan Welsh King from Benzonia, had been to the court office in September and was loud, argumentative, and vulgar with the staff.

He was told to leave. Numerous emails from King have been sent to the staff despite him being told to cease all contact.

A lengthy investigation followed, and an arrest warrant was authorized on July 8.

Troopers arrested King at his home in Benzonia on July 13.

King was arraigned today in Manistee County on one count Aggravated Stalking.

He was given a $10,000 and his next scheduled court appearance is on July 27.
